Ever since the JNU incident happened, the experts came forward with their take on the issue. Lately a group of students in the JNU campus gathered and shouted some anti-India slogans which included, “India, go back!”, “We will fight the war till we destroy India” and “Afzal we will take your aspirations to the destination”. Let us tell you that Mohammad Afzal Guru was born in Kashmir who was convicted and was given death sentence in India for his role in the December 2001 terrorist attack on the Indian Parliament.
NU students’ union joint secretary Saurabh Kumar, said, “How can an event on Afzal Guru, who attacked the temple of democracy, be held here? We are demanding expulsion of those who organized it. This was an anti-national event. When we tried to stop them from holding a march, I was shown a gun. They raised anti-India slogans and for freedom of Kashmir,”
After a couple of days of the incident, Shwetabh Gangwar a youth came forward with his video clip talking about the slogans the JNU student’s flashed at the event and the logic behind them. He said, “Imagine if a couple of politicians in Pakistan said the same statement, “we will not stop until the destruction of India is complete.” How would you interpret their intentions? Freedom or speech, or declaration of war?”.
He pointing out to the JNU Afzal Guru protestors said, “You are lucky that you are born in India, because if you were born anywhere left or right geographically, you would have found out the real meaning of an intolerant nation”. He further added, “I don’t think this is a debate on nationalism. You think it is because you assumed that these students knew what they were talking about. Tell me, before calling then anti-nationals did you entertain the simple possibility that maybe they are just stupid. And this is why they will never admit they are anti-nationals because deep inside they believe that they are doing a highly patriotic thing. Basically it’s a debate between stupidity and sensibility”.
