A Railway University– Indeed yes, this would certainly be something very unusual in the history of education in the country. Vadodara, Gujarat would soon witness the country’s first ever railway university. Minister of state for the Railways, Mr. Manoj Sinha is on his two day visit to Gujarat.
On his visit he said that the Gujarat government has been very cooperative in helping the Indian Railways to locate an appropriate land for the complete development of the university.
He said, “The present campus for National Academy of Indian Railways (NAIR), Vadodara, (at Pratap Vilas Palace) will be initially used to start the railway university. After land acquisition, a full-fledged university will be started here. The proposal to set up the railway university had been declared by the railway ministry in December 2015.”
“In the first phase, the university will start offering MBA and MTech degrees, after which it will offer diploma and BTech in railway operations,” he added.
All we could say is that the students can’t wait any longer for the India’s first Railway university to start its construction and get developed at the earliest so that they could experience education in a new all new way.
Aren’t you excited?
