Rajasthan government has also extended the benefits of this scheme to other employees having grade pay of Rs. 4,800 or less. The scheme includes work-charge employees, members of Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti, as well. The idea is to light up not only cities, but villages and towns too.

Compared to the amount offered last year, which was Rs. 3,500; this year, the government intends to give a bonus of Rs. 7,000 for 31-working days in October. With successful execution of this scheme, every employee would get an average amount of Rs. 6,774 as ad hoc Diwali bonus. This move is welcomed by Class III and Class IV officers in state, who’ve to fight tooth-and-nail for saving money all year round. Thousands of families can fetch better clothes, decorations and food items with this extra cash in hand.

Though this would create an additional burden of Rs. 406 crores on state exchequer, the scheme would benefit middle-class and low-income earning families, who look forward to spending this festival in a lavish manner.

Considering that Diwali is one of the major festivals celebrated all over India, Rajasthan Government has given these people yet another reason to smile and celebrate this beautiful festival.
