But, it seems Lady Luck was seriously annoyed with Pappu aka Congress VP Rahul Gandhi, who was at the sharp end of knife. In a shocking yet hilarious development, Rahul Gandhi’s twitter was hacked on the last night of November. A group of hackers that referred themselves as ‘legion’ took this opportunity to slam RG’s 1.21 million followers within a span of ten minutes. The first tweet to reappear on his Gandhi’s Twitter read as:
“Coming up next is a full Congress exposure of all the malpractices. This is the end of the corrupt era! We are legion.”
It immediately received 190 likes, 115 replies and 283 re-tweets, but was later deleted.

A series of 8 tweets appeared as soon as Rahul Gandhi’s Twitter was hacked. If not for demonetisation, the tweets were a direct blow to Congress’s corrupt history and Rahul’s low intelligent quotient. Not only this, the cruel hackers renamed the poor chap’s account to ‘Office of Retard Gandhi’ and hurled a series of abusive tweets on unsuspecting RG followers. The group seemed to have access to his profile for about one hour.

Though the account was regained by officials in two hours, the topic went viral. Needless to say, Twitteratis, who seem to have an appetite for Gandhi’s plight started trolling Rahul with memes and trolls.

In light of these cyber attacks, Congress party has decided to lodge a public complaint against hacker. Party spokesperson RS Surjewala made a public announcement,
“Will lodge a formal complaint with cyber police, hope govt will show sincerity of purpose in investigating and punishing them“.
Seems like Congress can’t help but make it to the tabloids for all the wrong reasons this year. On a serious note, we hope they’re safe in future.
