For a common man, birthdays are special. And when birthdays of special people fall on some days, those days perse become super-special adorned with extravagant celebrations. Today, January 25, we are happy to celebrate the notable face in India’s struggle for freedom, none other than Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.

At a small house in Kodalia, the celebrations of the special day have kicked off with due regard and reverence for the Indian nationalist. Impressively, this house bears a board called ‘Ancestral House of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’.

People in the vicinity claim that the Indian leader had graced this house not less than 3 times. Due to the special tales linked to this sacrosanct house, this house has formidably made it to the list of declared heritage sites by the West Bengali Heritage Commission.

Reportedly, ancestors of Netaji had settled down in this place near the 18th century.

“My father too was a caretaker of the same property. Every year, people visit the place on January 23.But now all the rooms are under lock and key. It’s been three years since this property is lying this way,” said Santosh Ghosh, the caretaker of the house. She also reiterated that a heavy footfall is expected to be here on Monday, when the idol Bose celebrates his birthday.

There is also a small puja room where ‘Narayan Seba’ is carried out daily by a family priest. The holy ritual was started by Prabhabati Bose, Netaji’s mother, in 1935.

Owing to the fact that Netaji was highly inclined towards reading books of different genres. This is the reason why caretakers are anticipating an overwhelming footfall in front of the library too.

There will be a spectacular programme which will be operformed as a tribute to the national activist. The officials are also working on formulating a ‘pandal’ which will host the entire programme. As per media, a sit-and-draw completion is also slated to happen during the day.
