The Golden Girls of Hockey have struck gold again. The fifth continuous win for them against Scotland National Team with an impressive score of 5-0 inspires us greatly. Canada’s Mathias Ahrens as the coach, has been successful in his rugged training which propelled the right playing spirit among the girls. The team is winning time and again, which only makes us the Indians, swell up with immense pride.
First and the second half of the game went goal-less in spite of incessant trials by the Indian team. But in the third half, the Golden Girls got their grip tighter with Rani breaking the dry spell at the 37th minute through a penalty corner with another goal in her pocket for this game. It was then other Indian rockstar Deepika who scored the 3rd goal and then back to back goals were struck by Anuradha Devi Thokchom and Gurjit Kaur at 54th and 59th minute respectively. With good team work, they all brought the total to 5 goals and no goal was done by the opponent team.
