Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the lady who personifies grace, celebrates her 44th birthday tomorrow ie. 1st November. Declared as the “most beautiful woman in the world” by both Indian and international media, the actor has given some outstanding performances throughout the career. She is considered as one of the finest actresses that Indian Cinema has but at the same time, she has achieved a lot at the international level as well.

On the occasion of the Former Miss World Aishwarya Rai’s birthday, here are some interesting facts that you might not know about the actress:

• Very few people know that before winning the Miss World Title in 1994, Aishwarya had already started modeling at a very young age. In fact, she first appeared in an advertisement for Camlin Pencils when she was in her 9th standard. Later, in her teenage, she also won the Ford Supermodel Contest and Tulips Miss Super Vivacious prize.

• Aishwarya was very studious in her school days. She even secured 90% marks in her intermediate exams. If not an actress, Mrs. Rai would have chosen either medicine or architecture as her career.

• Besides the various ads of famous brands like Pepsi, Lakme, Nakshatra, and Loreal, one advertisement that became very popular was the eye donation ad. When she announced that she would donate her eyes to an eye bank after leaving the world, she was the first Indian model to do so.

• The actress made her debut with Tamil movie named Iruvar in 1997. She was also seen in other Tamil films like Jeans, Enthiran, etc.  Her work in Bengali movies like Chokher Bali and Raincoat was also applauded.

• The actor is quite popular as an international icon that she was honored with a wax figure at London’s Madame Tussaud’s museum in October 2004. There are more than 17,000 websites on the internet dedicated to her.

• In the list of non-Indian films, Aishwarya has worked in Gurinder Chaddha’s British flick named ‘Bride and Prejudice’. Besides, she also featured in ‘Provoked’ in 2006 and ‘Pink Panther’ in the year 2009.

• Apart from various Filmware awards for films like ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ and ‘Devdas’, the actress was also honored with the Padma Shri in the year 2009. She also received the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, a national order in France, in the year 2012.
