Apple Is All Set To Set Up Production Facility In Bengaluru

The Taiwanese OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manufacturer has reaffirmed its commitment for the Indian market with reports that Apple is establishing shop in Bengaluru.

Their various officials have confirmed that they are considering Bengaluru as a production hub for iPhones in India. From very long, Foxconn, an OEM maker from Taiwan and which is Apple’s prominent manufacturer had been looking for land intending to setup a manufacturing facility in Maharashtra.

Foxconn is also associated with Xiaomi and OnePlus for manufacturing in India.

The Indian government has been in complete support for initiation of manufacturing in India. Since very long, the Indian government has been continuing with constant incentivising the companies to initiate the production in India for a very stretched time now. Also, in this matter, Apple has been very expressive about his interest in this context and also see India as a very beneficial market for their portfolio.

Right now, the company is in talking terms to set up the main Apple brand stores. The company is looking for concessions from the country government in this context.

The announcement will be a big one from Apple for Bengaluru. While Apple CEO, Tim Cook was in India tour, early this year, we could get the signals of improving importance of India. This is because of accelerating demand of Apple products in middle society section of India. From October 2015 to September 2016, Apple had sold 2.4 million iPhones in India, which is a 50% hike.

Apple has also rolled out some published job openings on their portal for some vacancies. All these are to fill the OEM’s  factory in Bengaluru which includes operations programme manger and product quality manager. As per the statement of Faisal Kawoosa (Principal analyst at CyberMedia Research) mentioned, “Apple coming to India is a big booster for the make in India initiative”.
