Film ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ continues to make waves in the film industry. Filmmaker Karan Johar is not leaving any stone unturned to make sure his film sees a smooth release pan India on October 28. The film which features Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, ran into trouble after Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) said it will ban the release of any movie in India that stars Pakistani actors.
Post this, the Cinema Owners and Exhibitors Association of India also announced that single screen theatres in Maharashtra, Goa and Gujarat won’t screen ‘ADHM’ to avoid damage to their property by the protesters.
Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday held a meeting at his residence with MNS chief Raj Thackeray and filmmaker Karan Johar in the presence of Film & Television Producers Guild of India president Mukesh Bhatt, over the release of ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’.
After the meeting, Mukesh Bhatt assured the reporters that they had a constructive talk with the Maharashtra Chief Minister and the film will release as per the schedule on October 28. However, Bhatt also said that Producers’ Guild will not work with Pakistani artistes anymore. He further added that the Producer’s Guild will also contribute to the Army Welfare Fund as they owe this to the Army.
Karan Johar has also mentioned that he will run a special slate honoring the martyrs before the start of the movie as a tribute to the soldiers. Bhatt said that the movie is made in the best interest of the public.

Karan recently broke his silence on the ADHM controversy by saying that he was hurt on being labelled ‘anti-national’ when he defended the Pakistani artists amid the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan. “I condemn terror in the strongest terms, I respect our Army, for me, the country comes first. The reason why I remained silent is because of a deep sense of pain,” the 44-year-old filmmaker said.
Earlier on Thursday, Mukesh Bhatt and Apoorva Mehta from Dharma Productions met Union home minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi regarding the smooth release of the film. Even though Singh supported the release of the movie, Bhatt said that there is a sense of fear about law and order in Mumbai, which is going out of control. He wanted assurance along with the chief minister of the state that law and order will be intact and they shall not face any difficulty during the release of ‘ADHM’.
Singh offered support and said that he will talk to chief ministers of the states so that the law and order remains in check and violent protest does not happen near theatres. Full security will be given to all exhibitors.

The MNS finally said that they won’t oppose the film’s release.
Karan Johar also agreed that he will not engage with talent from Pakistan ‘in the circumstance’. He further added that the best way to express patriotism is to spread love and that’s all he has ever tried to do through his work and cinema.
