The hackers have not even left the national carrier Air India. Last night, the official Twitter account of Air India was hacked. Even a tweet regarding cancellation of flight has been posted from the account. In fact, the airlines has issued an official statement and assured to restore the twitter handle. Air India has almost 1,46,000 followers on Twitter.
“The Air India official twitter handle @airtindiain has been hacked late last night with a malafide intent to mislead passengers. Air India immediately swung into action and took up the matter with the twitter authorities. All malicious content was removed on a war-footing. It is expected that normalcy would be restored soon. All Air India flights are operating as per schedule. Passengers are requested to ignore any misleading qand mischievous communication on our operations.” This is statement given by Air India after hacking for safety of passengers.
In the series of tweet, some tweets are made in Turkish language. In fact, the name of official Twitter handle of Air India was changed from @airindiain to @airindiaTR.
There is also a post about cancellation of flight posted on Twitter that reads, “Last minute important announcement. All our flights have been cancelled. From now on, we will fly with Turkish Airlines.”
This tweet was also on Air India Twitter handle. It reads, “Your account has been hacked by the Turkish cyber army Ayyildiz Tim. Your DM correspondence and important data have been captured.”
