Aarushi Talwar Murder case of 2008 finally has a verdict. Today, the Allahabad High Court acquitted Rajesh Talwar and Nupur Talwar in the murder case of their teenage daughter Aarushi. This murder created a sensation in the country creating so many questions in the minds of people.
Both Nupur and Rajesh Talwar held guilty for killing their daughter as well as domestic help Hemraj in 2008. The court acquitted them as they could not be held guilty on the basis of the evidence on record.
It is always a heart-wrenching thought that how parents could kill their daughter so brutally.
This murder held on night of May 15-16, 2008. Aarushi was found dead in her bedroom with her throat slit at her own residence in the Delhi, suburb of Noida.

Facts
At first, the main suspect was Hemraj, but two days later he, too, was found murdered and his body was recovered from the terrace of the house. After this incident, then Uttar Pradesh chief minister, Mayawati, handed the case over to the CBI on June 1, 2008.
After investigation, it is found that the Talwars were convicted of the murders as per the CBI court. The Talwars were arrested in 2013; in 2015, a court found them guilty and sentenced them to life in prison. The CBI wanted the death penalty.
The couple challenged this verdict in the Allahabad high court and blamed the CBI for “shoddy investigation”.
Verdict
The high court overturned a 2013 trial court ruling that found the couple guilty of murdering their daughter and their domestic help. The HC pronounced them ‘not guilty’.
After today’s verdict, AP Singh, who then headed the CBI, told, “There were loopholes in our investigation, that’s why we had closed the case saying it was inconclusive.” He said this verdict “does not say that the Talwars didn’t do it” but that there’s not enough evidence against them.
The Talwars were in jail in Dasna in Uttar Pradesh when they were acquitted. They were happy to hear of the verdict.
