The ‘unvoiced’ animosity between Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi and Karnataka government took an ugly shape when Karnataka Congress had put up derogatory posters depicting her as ‘Hitler’ and ‘Goddess Kali’ all over the city. This Thursday, the social activist and former IPS officer, Ms. Bedi tweeted a screenshot of a billboard set up by the government of Karnataka. The poster depicts her as Adolf Hitler. A random user had forwarded the picture of the billboard to Bedi on WhatsApp. The post features Bedi, dressed in typical ‘Hitler’ attire, with his signature ‘toothbrush mustache’ in place.
That’s not all! The party had put up more ‘disgraceful posters’ portraying as an unwanted leader and the bloodthirsty Goddess Kali. The posters were displayed all over the city! Many citizens shared them on social media, as well.
Bedi shared these posters with users on social network yesterday.

The Karnataka Congress allegedly displayed these posters to protest against the LG’s decision. Recently, the LG decided to appoint three MLAs of her choice, without consulting the territorial government. The Ministry of Home Affairs at the center, had appointed S Selvaganapathy, party treasurer KG Shankar, and Puducherry BJP chief V Saminathan as nominated legislators of the state assembly.
On July 4, the Governor appointed the three nominated candidates as Puducherry legislators. Following this, the Karnataka Congress and other left-wing parties (like VCK and DMK) protested against this decision. Calling Bedi ‘undemocratic’ the aggravated Congress party workers organized a ‘Bandh’ on July 8, criticizing the governor for her ways.
While Congress supporters took a dig at Bedi, a majority of netizens sided with her, appreciating her for smart and efficient administration.
