Two minors from Kota who were dwellers of a shelter home had a luck trip when a sum of Rs. 96,500 and silver and gold jewellery were discovered from their ancestral home. The amount was discovered by the Child Welfare Committee officials and the money is in old currency. This whole pack of fortune was found from their ancestral home.
Sadly, the post demonetization period is acting a glitch in their serendipity as the Reserve Bank of India is not letting them submit the money amount in the bank. They are asking CWC to elevate this matter to the prime minister’s office.
The minor siblings, named Suraj and Saloni were mere 13 year old and 9 year old when they had to live at the shelter home. Their widowed mother was killed at Saharwada village in Kota in the year 2013.
After that, both of them shifted to the NGO run shelter home. The newly made, CWCs, (Child Welfare Committee) brought a auspicious chance for both of them which were formed in Rajasthan December, 2016.
The committee did a review of orphans and it was figured out that, they own an ancestral house.
Hairsh Gurbaxani, the chairperson of CWC, Kota said, “Usually, in criminal cases when children are orphaned, the police are supposed to make an inventory of things recovered from the property. But, in this instance, the police arrested the murder accused and locked the house”.
During the early phase, the CWC reached to RBI but got refused from there. They explained, “”But, we didn’t manage to exchange the money. Both the children wanted the money kept in fixed deposit for the girl Saloni until she reached the age of marriage. A letter was written to RBI on March 17, 2017. However, they denied us by quoting some ordinance”.
After taking the necessary measures, they are relying on hopes and assurances. They have been told that, by Monday, they will be provided the necessary measures and means.
