Last summer, Smartron, a Hyderabad-based startup unveiled its first smartphone based on IoT and homegrown technology. The tPhone, as they call it, is a dual-tone beauty endorsed by legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. The master batsman was a strategic shareholder in the company. The tPhones were a smashing hit among Tendulkar phones. Beset by the massive popularity of this piece, the company is set to launch its signature Sachin Tendulkar branded smartphones this April.
Ever since Tendulkar was spotted in a Mumbai during an ad-shoot for Smartron, rumours have started surfacing in the tech world. Leaks reveal that the upcoming phone is a part of the company’s first-ever master blaster series that will sport Tendulkar’s autograph.
Rimo SRT is the Name of the Upcoming Project
According to industry sources, the company is still working on its upcoming Smartron Tendulkar phone ‘Rimo SRT’. After the tBook (tablet) and tPhone, this is going to be Smartron’s third ambitious project.

For those who don’t know, Smartron’s tBook is a two-in-one, detachable ultrabook powered by 2GHz Intel CoreM. It comes with 64-bit Windows 10 OS, 36W charger, 12.2-inch touchscreen and 128 GB SSD. It carries 4GB RAM, 128GB hard drive and 10 hours battery life. The laptop-cum-tablet costs Rs 42,999.
Likewise, tphone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 powered device with 5.5-inch, full HD, 401 ppi AMOLED display. It carries 64GB internal storage and runs on Android Marshmallow. The market price of this phone is 24,999.
The company is likely to design the upcoming Tendulkar phones along the same lines. It’ll be a medium budget phone suiting the requirements of the middle class. The company will stick to the dual-coloured themes like sunrise orange, metallic pink, classic grey and steel blue.
Though the company is yet to confirm its launch date, the representatives have stated that they’ll be announcing new devices in smartphone, wearables and laptop segment. The news has got Tendulkar fans quite excited.
